My first day of Immersion in Nursing

Today is my first day of immersion at Andan Maternity Inn (Paanakan). They offered a pre natal, normal delivery, newborn care, health education and postpartum care. I felt excited l, happy but also nervous. I'm with my  classmate Daphne and we started our Daily task/activity that have been required to us since we have our orientation yesterday with our adviser sir John Marco Suazo together with our assistant school principal sir Sandy Yee after the orientation, the midwife toured us the rooms, giving us instructions, and she also taughts us the proper hand washing. All we have to do is to observe the daily processes and tasks of a midwife and the nurse and to learn and perform the basic nursing intervention like taking vital signs, blood pressure, input & output and monitoring ivf of patients. We started doing our activity for today. The nurse teach us how to take vital signs of patient. After her instructions, we started to perform our task activity we get the pulse rate, respiratory rate and the temperature of the mother and her baby. We also observe newborn screening. The nurse and the midwife was writing a patient's record, forms and immuniztion card. They also taught us how to make a container for madecine by using a paper. After our work, they give us time for rest. After we rest, we started again observing their daily process and tasks. They told us that on the other day they will show us how they assist to a mother giving birth in the delivery room. I've learned from them about the basic task of the nurse and I hope that it will help us when we take our course in college and we will apply it into ourselves what we have learned on our immersion.
